“I’m comfortable asking questions in the smaller class setting.”
“The instructor teaches at a slower pace and makes sure that everyone understands before moving forward.”
“Students have the opportunity to work on problems together as the class format in not strictly lecture.”
“The instructor offers study tips and learning strategies.”
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IF I TAKE MATH 1005/1006?
Math 1005/1006 reviews material presented in Math 1105/1106 lectures, provides problem solving techniques and tips as well as prelim review. The course provides further instruction for students who need reinforcement. It is not, however, a substitute for Math 1005/1006 lectures or recitations. Students in Math 1005/1006 are provided with handouts that summarize ideas and topics taught in the Math 1005/1006 lectures, and include exercises for the students to work on in class.
All students enrolled in Math 1105/1106 are welcome to attend the Math 1005/1006 lectures and visit the Math 1005/1006 websites for class schedule information, weekly announcements and handouts. Math 1005/1006 75-minute lectures are offered 2 times per week (second meeting time is a repeat of the first). Only students enrolled in Math 1005/1006 will be offered tutoring services.
Successful completion of the course (an “S” grade) requires attending a minimum of 8 classes during the semester.
