WHY DO STUDENTS TAKE MATH 1011 AND MATH 1012?
Students who are enrolled in Math 1110 or Math 1120 may choose to also enroll in the Learning Strategies Center’s supplemental courses, Math 1011 and Math 1012. Students choose to take the supplemental course for a number of reasons:
“It's a great supplement to Calculus, especially if you're having trouble in the class. The instructor and assistants are very good at explaining confusing math concepts.”
“Instructor answers questions and explains each step thoroughly. The review sessions for the prelims and final are also really helpful.”
“Calculus I needs a lot of practice in order to do well, and Math1011 definitely provides you with that kind of practice..”
“Attending 00 session is imperative for success in Math1110. The course provides additional practice problems that you just don't have time to do in lecture. Prelim reviews are very helpful for developing an understanding of basic concepts.”
“As someone who never took calculus before, I had a lot of trouble in Math1110 because most of the people in my class had already taken AP calculus or at least calculus in high school. This course really helped me understand the basic concepts and helped me prepare for exams.”
“Math1011 provides students with extra help for tough course material in a clear and concise manner.”
“It was not simply a supplement to my Calculus II course. Instead, this was where I actually learned the material.”
“The instructor explained certain topics more thoroughly. He gave a lot of practice problems and provided plenty of help after class and during office hours.”
“Math1012 helps us not only understand what all the lectures and homework were about for the week, but provides us with relevant practice for the tests.”
